Lisa Marie Cook

Lisa Marie Cook age 47 of Jerusalem Township passed away Sunday, June 18, 2023, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. Lisa was born to Donald and Tina (Henneman) Smith on February 25, 1976, in Oregon, Ohio. She was a 1994 graduate of Clay High School. Lisa was an old soul. She was a strong, loving, selfless, hardworking woman. Her aura shined bright into every door she walked in. She loved all of her friends & family with everything in her. She always found a way to make you feel special whether it be a small gift bag of chapstick and homemade cookies, a quick visit to see if you're feeling better or text to circle back on yesterday's conversation where she listened to all your problems.  She was an all around people person in general, loved by many. Lisa's visits were short and sweet~ like her time here on earth. We finally realize that Lisa talked as fast as she drove because she wanted to connect daily with her circle of friends and family~ a text, call, gift left on the porch, a few of your favorite snacks from Kroger, breakfast, a short visit, a game of Yahtzee, a walk in the park, or fluffing your pillow at night.  Everything she did was selfless.  Lisa enjoyed watching birds, baking, gardening, walking, concerts and road trips. She was always the life of the party, the last one to leave and the first one up in the morning ready to start coffee & put ice back in the cooler. Lisa did not only turn lemons into lemonade; she made them into fancy cakes, cookies, floor cleaner, room deodorizer, candles, decor, and cocktails. She taught us how to live, love & most definitely laugh. Last but not least, the love she had for her two children was unconditional. She made sure to remind them every day. Her soul and spirit live on through her son and daughter and of course her grandchildren present and future. She will be missed dearly by everyone who knew her, including her dog buddy she said she would never get, but spoiled and loved him like her own baby. Whenever Lisa crosses your mind, please always remember these words. “It's never goodbye, it's just ‘till next time”…
Lisa is survived by her loving children Michael and Maddy Cook; grandson Jaxson Cook;  her parents Don Smith and Tina Smith; grandmother Phyllis Dunmyer; step-grandmother Barb Henneman; sister Jenny (Andy) Knorr; brother Thomas (Julie) Smith; sister-in-law Jessica (Brian) Tobias; nieces and nephews Brendan, Riley, and Andrew Knorr, Grant, Jaylin, and Malani Smith, Henry and Griffen Tobias; great-niece Lainey; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and sister friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Jason in 2019, her mother-in-law Susan Abde (Cready),  her grandpa and grandma Ronald and Loretta Henneman, grandpa Norman Smith, and step-grandpa Elroy Dunmyer.
