Jon D. Lohr

Jon D. Lohr, 59, of Genoa, Ohio, passed away, Sunday, November 3, 2024, at home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Oregon, Ohio on May 29, 1965, the son of Duane and Joanne (Chio) Lohr. He graduated from Woodmore High School in 1983 and began working in the electrical, plumbing and HVAC field, from which he retired from in 2023. Jon married Joanna (Claus) at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, in Genoa, on June 27, 1992, and celebrated their 32nd anniversary this year.
Jon was a loving husband, father and grandfather who was always ready to spend time with his daughter and grandchildren. He always had a smile on his face and could make you smile with his witty comments! He was somewhat of a homebody who was an avid Notre Dame fan. Every Saturday during football season was spent watching his favorite team. Jon loved being outdoors and spending time working in the garage. He was a “master griller” and recently became hooked on adult Lego sets.
Jon is survived by his wife, Joanna, daughter, Jenna (Tanner) Roberts, grandchildren, Atley and Dakota, mother, Joanne Lohr, Father, Duane (Sue) Lohr, sisters, Jodi (Ron) Snyder, and Jacki (Craig) Wahl, mother-in-law, Phyllis Claus, brother -in-law, Darin (Melissa) Claus, and sisters-in-law, Jackie Bury, Michelle (Jay) Tomor and Angie (Lee) Jeffries, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his nephews, Josh and Jeremy Snyder and father-in-law, Dwight Claus.
Visitation for Jon will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 PM, Thursday, November 7, 2024, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St. Genoa. Please feel free to were your favorite football Jersey as a tribute to Jon. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 8, 2024, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 300 Warner St., Walbridge, Ohio, followed by burial in the Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa.
