John E. Falk

John E. Falk, 78, of Northwood, Ohio passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2021.  He was born on November 17, 1942 in Toledo, Ohio to Alfred and Laura Falk.  John was a 1962 graduate of Waite High School and played on their first varsity bowling team.  He married his wife, Kay on January 8, 1966 and they started their family raising six children.   In addition to their children, John and Kay fostered over 20 children from 1979-1993. John worked many years at Taystee Bread until their closing.  He retired from C & W Tank Cleaning Company.  John enjoyed bowling, woodworking, and hockey.  He took many trips to Canada, around Ontario and Niagara Falls for youth hockey. John was a skilled skate sharpener who took great pride in sharpening the skates of local youth and high school teams around Northwest Ohio.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

John is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Kay Falk; children, John “Ty” (Deanna) Falk, Troy (Fauna Gears) Falk, Tammy (Jamie) Brittian, Jon (Jennifer) Falk, Chelsea (James) Queen, and Casey Falk; 19 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; siblings, Dian (Norman) Hatch, James (Luanne) Falk, and Linda Gercak and in-laws, Cheryl (Barry Winters) Sigurdson, Judyth Risner, Richard (Joyce) Ollivier, Dorothy Ollivier, and Betty Ollivier.  He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Rita and Herbert Ollivier; grandchildren, Kaylee Miller, Patrick and Samantha Falk, and his brothers-in-law, Paul Gercak, Larry Ollivier, and Russell Ollivier.
