Janice Mae Heidebrink

Janice Mae Heidebrink, age 91, peacefully passed surrounded by her family at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, Monday, November 4, 2024.  She was born on March 27, 1933, in Toledo, Ohio to Arthur and Edna (Johnson) Baker.   She graduated from Lake High School in 1951 and married her high school sweetheart, Howard Heidebrink, July 19, 1953.  While Howard was stationed in the Army in Karlsruhe, Germany, she accompanied him and they traveled through Europe.  They subsequently settled in Millbury, Ohio where Janice was a devoted homemaker.  In 1975 she started a part time receptionist job at Tobias Chiropractic where she joyfully greeted patients and assisted with bookkeeping for 20 years until she retired with her husband to spend time traveling, making frequent trips to California to visit family. Family was her pride and joy.   As a sister, sister-in-law, and Auntie in charge, Janice was the designated ringleader, hosting countless family functions.   The annual Lake Erie summer retreat was always a family favorite for the Baker clan.   She was a doting grandmother caring for all her grandchildren in their early years.  Most of all Janice loved helping others, always putting their needs above her own.
She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 71 years, Howard; sister, Mary Ellen Osborne;  children:  Paul (Cherri) Heidebrink, Pam (Mike) Lent, Kathy (Dave) Mangelsdorf; grandchildren, Aaron (Mary Beth) Heidebrink, Lindsay Heidebrink, Jared (Melissa) Heidebrink, Madelynn (Sam Schmall) Lent, Ally Lent, Ben Mangelsdorf, Abby Mangelsdorf, Jack Mangelsdorf; and great grandchildren, Alexander, Conner, Madison, Luke and Luna Heidebrink.  Preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Peggy Akenberger.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Zion Lutheran Church, Perrysburg.  Interment: Lake Township Cemetery.  Consideration for memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Zion Lutheran Church.   Those wishing to express a word of encouragement, share a memory or photo may do so at www. egglestonmeinert.com.     Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home assisted the family.
