After last year’s Grub `n Suds was canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic, the Elmore Historical Society was excited to announce that the 2021 event will be held Saturday, Sept. 11 from 11 a.m.-7 p.m., at Depot Park, 353 Ottawa St., Elmore.
“Plans are being made, bands are booked, the menu is set, and we are so excited to be back,” said Rick Claar, Elmore Historical Society president.
ABATE (American Bikers Aimed Toward Education) of Ohio Region 7 is planning the route for their Poker Run and getting awards ready for their Bike Show and Judging Contest. Bike judging will include a new class this year – a trike class is being added to the existing custom, historical, cruisers, rat and touring classes. The registration fee is $10.
In addition, the event will include food, beer, motorcycle-related vendors and a 2022 motorcycle preview.
Starting off the entertainment for this year’s event will be Jeremy Rober on his acoustic guitar. Attendees may remember Rober as the lead vocalist with 3 Horsemen, who headlined the two previous Grub & Suds events. Rober mixes rock and roll with country and other musical genres.
This year’s headliner will be Bobby May and The Dry Bones Revival Band.  “Bobby is very excited to be playing at this year’s event,” Claar said. “He said it has always been on his bucket list to play here.”
In addition, there will be tributes to the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
“We are looking forward to getting back to doing what we do best – having great homemade food, great entertainment and lots of fun,” Claar said.
        The schedule includes:
        • 10 a.m.: ABATE #7 Poker Run registration. Fee is $15 for drivers and $10 for passengers.
        • 11 a.m.: All bikes out for the poker run.
        • 11 a.m.-6 p.m.: Historical Society serving food in the barn.
        • 11 a.m.-7 p.m.: Midway vendors open.
        • 12 p.m.: 9/11 Tribute Ceremony.

        • 1 p.m.: Poker run ends (all bikes in).
