Hollis Johnson

Hollis Johnson, 57, of Genoa, passed away on August 10, 2024. He was born in Toledo Ohio in 1966 to Ruth and Paul Johnson. Hollis attended Lake High School graduating in 1985 before becoming quite the Jack of all trades. He happily devoted the last nearly 18 years at LA Bexten starting as a propane technician and then graduating to a generator service manager.

Hollis met the love of his life Anjie in 1997. Excited and eager to start their new lives together, the two planned a secret wedding in May 2000, and later surprised their families and  friends with a huge celebration.

He had many joys in life but his son, Cameron, was always on the top of that list. Watching Cameron become the man he is today was something Hollis took great pride in.

Hollis had many beautiful friendships over the years that he cherished greatly, including his lifelong best friend since the fifth grade Matt Schober, and also Jamie, Dave, and Deyo Hasbrook who became like brothers to him.

Hollis will always be remembered for being himself and being the life of the party. He loved and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.

Hollis was proceeded in death by his parents- Ruth and Paul Johnson, Uncle Art and Aunt Donna. He is survived by his Wife Anjie Johnson, Son- Cameron Johnson, Cameron’s Mother- Cindy Kutzli-Johnson, Mother and Father in Law- Mary Clark and Corky Sutherland, Brother in Law- John (Abby) Sutherland, Nephews- PJ Reed and Trevor Sutherland, Nieces- Cindi Hutchinson and Brook Sutherland, Cousins- Keith (Bruce) Johnson, and many other nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and close friends.

A celebration of life will be held to honor Hollis on September 1, 2024 from 2pm-6pm at the Red Willow Event Center, 5805 Woodville Rd in Northwood, Ohio where all friends and family are invited to come reminisce and enjoy memories. Food will be provided but personal beverages are encouraged to be brought.
