German-American Fest to serve exclusive chocolate cherry beer

Press Staff Writer

German-American Festival (G.A.F.) will be pouring their own exclusively brewed beer this year, in addition to the more than 50 German beers the festival already serves.
Brewed by Earnest Brew Works, the German-American Festival beer is a variation of their best-selling “Crunchy Hippie” brew. To honor the Black Forest region of Germany (and the G.A.F.’s popular restaurant), Earnest has added black cherries and chocolate into the brewing process. The end result is a beer that not only smells like Black Forest cake, but offers a distinct chocolate and cherry aftertaste.
“It is sure to be a Festival favorite,” said Andrew Beevis, festival marketing director.

The purpose of the festival is to promote the German and Swiss cultures and support the German and Swiss cultural center in Oregon.
