Faye M. (Burner) Carl

Faye Marie (Burner) Carl, (83) of Woodville, passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Bay Park Hospital in Oregon. She was born October 15, 1937 at home in Woodville, Ohio to Achilles L. and Verna L. (Niehousmyer) Baumer. Following graduation from high school, she married Marvin Burner on December 1, 1956. Faye and Marv raised 3 children and celebrated 26 years of marriage before Marv’s passing in May of 1982.  Faye found love again and married William J. Carl on May 19, 1990 at the United Methodist Church, Woodville.  Faye and Bill celebrated 31 years of marriage.

Faye lived and worked in Woodville.  She worked for several businesses including Ohio Lime, Del’s Super Market, and lastly at the Huntington Bank as a Teller Supervisor for 20 plus years before retiring.  She loved her family with her whole heart, always placing them before herself.  She loved Christmas and the traditional holiday festivities, family shopping, baking Christmas cookies, wrapping packages and sending her American Diabetes cards to family and friends. These memories hold a special place in their hearts, and they will carry on her traditions! She enjoyed the outdoors and took great pride in her flower beds and vegetable garden. Faye and Bill were passionate bird watchers, and they researched the many different types of birds in their woods. They loved to travel, including spring games for the Cleveland Indians. In addition, she enjoyed canning vegetables from her garden and making her remarkable salsa! Faye was also an amazing cook, baker and loved to read.  She was also an avid bowler. Many of her friends today were her bowling partners for over 25+ years!  We know with her love for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish she will continue to Play Like a Champion in heaven. Ultimately, her greatest love of all was her family, especially her husband Bill, children and grandchildren!

In addition to her husband William, Faye is survived by her children: Debra (Michael) Beam, Donna (Thomas) Beam, Steven (Jennifer) Burner all of Woodville, and Colleen (Michael) Kuszek of Maumee. Grandchildren: Dustin Every, Jenna (Rian) Mullholand, Brianna (Josh) Vermeesch, Melissa (Brandon) Moser, Tyler Burner, Courtney Burner, Kristen (Christopher) Rupert, and Kelsey (Adam) Kaczala. Great-grandchildren: Dakota, Brodie, Calvin, Emery, Malcolm, and Piper. Siblings: Brenda Sandwisch, Gerald (Virginia) Baumer, Jeanette (Edmund) Miller, Jay (Tina) Baumer, Beth (David) Custer and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her first husband Marvin Burner, she was preceded in death by her parents, maternal grandparents, Adlai and Carrie Niehousmyer, and her uncle and aunt who held a special place in her heart, Clinton and Ruth Pierce.

Following a family Church Service, Faye will be laid to rest, at a family committal service, in Westwood Cemetery, Woodville. Officiating services will be Rev. James Budke. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association. Those wishing to express a word of encouragement, may do so at:
