Faye H. Oleszczuk

Faye H. Oleszczuk, 95, formerly of Clay Center, Ohio, passed away peacefully in the early morning of Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at the Genoa Retirement Village, where she had been a resident for the past two years. She was born in Ottawa County on February 23, 1929, the seventh of nine born to Frank and Ada M. (McCabe) Shaneck. She married the love of her life who always made her laugh, Vincent Oleszczuk, in Lucas County on August 30, 1948. They spent many happy years together until his death in 1985.

Faye was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother whose life was focused on her family. Her grandchildren will always remember their sleepovers with her where they enjoyed hearing stories about the “old days.” She loved to cook and bake and was known for her homemade chicken soup and bread, which was always in demand when the family was around. Faye loved to work in her flower gardens, play cards, dice games, and taking trips to the casino!

Faye will be lovingly remembered by her children, Dan (Barb) Oleszczuk, Dave (Michele) Oleszczuk, Don (Kathy) Oleszczuk, and Deb Ehrsam, grandchildren, Jason (Alison) Oleszczuk, Danielle (Hugh) Keeton, Justin (Kim) Oleszczuk, Sarah (Dan) Montanya, Matt (Britt) Oleszczuk, Lindsay (Randy) Newman, Jordan (Bree) Oleszczuk, Josh Ehrsam, and Jennifer (Jon) Brothers, and sixteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ada, husband, Vincent, brothers, Floyd (Mary), Glen (Lou), Donald (Peg), Maynard (Aline) and Leslie Shaneck, sisters, Irene (Abe) Swedren, Betty (Bob) Mickits, and Leona (Andy) Distle.

Visitation for Faye will be held from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, Ohio. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 noon, in the funeral home followed with burial in the Oakwood Cemetery, Curtice, Ohio.
