Lake Twp.- An Oregon man was charged May 28 with several violations after a vehicle chase that began near the intersection of Lemoyne and Ayers roads and ended along State Rt. 579.
Corey Haeft, 32, Oregon, was charged with failure to comply with a police order, obstructing official business, resisting arrest and assault.
According to police, a resident reported a suspicious vehicle about 12:30 a.m. in the area of Lemoyne and Latcha roads, south of State Rt. 795. A patrol officer spotted the vehicle near the Lemoyne/Ayers intersection and attempted to pull the vehicle over but it went through an intersection without stopping.
Lake Township police were assisted by officers from Walbridge, Oregon, Northwood and the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Police said there was property damage caused by the Haeft vehicle and the assault charge stems from him trying to hit a township vehicle as the officer was getting out.
