Ben R. Morrissey

Benjamin R. Morrissey, 32, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly, with his brother Max, on September 21, 2022. Ben was born in Oregon, Ohio on July 27, 1990, to Robert and Patricia (Troje) Morrissey. Ben loved nothing more than spending time with his parents, brother, sisters, nieces, and nephews; family time was truly his favorite time, he was an amazing uncle and brother.
He graduated from Clay High School where he played football, wrestled, and attended the auto program. He married Kaddie (Rowland) on October 12, 2019. The love they shared together was indescribable, they were truly best friends. He was a proud father to his loving son, Weslee, and unborn child due in May 2023. Weslee meant the absolute world to him and Ben was so excited to have their next child together. Ben was also a proud member of AA, where he just celebrated 10 years of sobriety. After high school, Ben took the time to finish a 4-year program to become a union journeyman ironworker in NYC. He received every welding certificate his union offered. He was a member of local 417 and worked for local 40.
Ben accepted a position at the BP refinery in March 2022 and was a new member of the United Steelworkers Local 1 Chapter 346. Ben was a self-taught fixer and was always working on a project; he renovated both houses they purchased. He also had many hobbies and passions including, fishing on Lake Erie with his dad, boating on the Hudson River, and riding dirt bikes with his wife and friends in New York. Ben and Kaddie shared the same passion for cooking; he was one of the best cooks in the family. He also enjoyed his time camping with family and friends. What many will remember most about Ben, is that whenever he walked into a room, he would light it up with his smile. He lived life to the fullest and did not take anything for granted. His life was cut short, but his memories and legacy will live on forever.
