Bautista-Macias to lead Lourdes

When the gun fires to begin the 2019 cross country season, the Lourdes University’s men’s squad will have a new look.
Daniel Bautista-Macias (Waite) steadily improved throughout his first season at Lourdes and will be called upon for racing experience with a new roster this year.  Bautista-Macias posted a season’s best time of 33:10.0 by year’s end in the 8K, and will look to lower that mark even further this season.
Coach Cheryl McLean takes over the Gray Wolves’ program, which finished in ninth place at the 2018 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Championships.  McLean inherits a roster that has just one runner returning from last year’s campaign.
Lourdes opened its season on Sept. 14, competing at the Tiffleberg Open, the first of six meets on this year’s schedule.  The season will culminate at the WHAC Championships in Grand Rapids, Mich. on Nov. 9.
