<description>I guess I don't understand why there is such a debate over whether or not to add security to the city government offices. There are more people in our community who are losing jobs and feeling stresses that have never been issues before. In these instances it is not uncommon for people to look up the chain to find someone to blame for problems. It is certainly not uncommon to blame the government, be it federal, state or local. For those of you hesitating, let's think about a few realities:

1) The people who you are worrying are going to be SOOO inconvenienced with this do not make daily, weekly or even monthly trips to the city offices.
2) The security gate is already in place...it costs no additional tax payer dollars to utilize it.
3) Even if it did (which as I said, it doesn't) who can put a price on the security of these individuals? I'm sure any parent, spouse or child of anyone who has ever lost their life to violence which could have been avoided would have done taken whatever precautions were necessary. But you know? That's the funny thing about it. Sometimes YOU JUST DON'T GET A SECOND CHANCE.
