Trustees (again) ask for signal at Rt. 51/Millbury Rd

Once again the Lake Township trustees are asking the Ohio Department of Transportation to install a traffic signal at the corner of State Route 51 and Millbury roads.

The board of trustees Tuesday approved a resolution for ODOT to install a signal at the intersection where several persons were injured March 6 in a three-car accident.

 
Jerusalem Township behind on paying the bills

Bills that should have been paid last month are piling up in Jerusalem Township.

Why? It depends on who you talk to.

The township, as do other communities, approves payment of the bills at every trustee meeting. Two of three trustees must approve of a motion to pay the bills before the money is disbursed.

Before your income taxes are due to be filed with the IRS, another deadline looms that can impact your personal finances.

March 31 is the deadline for property owners to challenge the 2008 valuations used to calculate property tax bills issued this past December and the upcoming bills in June.

 
Ohio EPA signs off on riverfront clean-up site

The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has signed off on the clean-up of a 44-acre parcel on   Miami Street, granting the Maumee Riverfront Improvement Project a covenant not to sue.

The property, located at 1968 Miami Street, had been owned by the Pilkington North America and Libbey Owens Ford glassmaking companies.
