Jerusalem Township
Prohibited Growth of Grass & Weeds 

To all owners, lessees, agents or tenants owning or having charge of land within Jerusalem Township which has noxious weeds and/or rank vegetation about to spread or mature seeds growing on the same, take notice that said noxious weeds and/or rank vegetation must be cut and destroyed. First offense in the calendar year shall cause a written notice to be served upon the owner, lessee, agent, or tenant having charge of such land by ordinary US mail notifying them that such noxious weeds or grass are growing on such lands and that they must be cut and destroyed within five days after the service of such notice.

 Failure to comply with this notice shall result in the Township causing such noxious weeds and/or rank vegetation to be cut and/or destroyed at a rate of $200 per hour with a minimum of one hour per occurrence. All costs and expenses including the cost of giving notice, incurred by the Township, in cutting and/or destroying said noxious weeds and/or rank vegetation shall be a lien upon the property which they are removed and if the same are not paid within (20) days after they are incurred by the Township, they shall be certified to the Lucas County Auditor who shall place the same on the tax duplicate.

The citizens of Grand Rapids, Ohio are hereby advised of Appendix A §60 of: the Codified Ordinances of Grand Rapids which states that no owner, lessee, agent, or tenant of land shall permit noxious weeds or grass to grow to a height exceeding 8 inches. Failure to keep such weeds or grass cut in conformity with this section shall constitute a violation hereof. First offense in the calendar year shall cause a written notice to be served upon the owner, lessee, agent, or tenant having charge of such land by ordinary US mail notifying him that such noxious weeds or grass are growing on such lands and that they must be cut and destroyed within five days after the service of such notice. If the owner, lessee, agent, or tenant having charge of the lands herein referred to fails to comply with such notice, the Village administrator shall cause such noxious weeds or grass to be cut and destroyed and the expenses shall become a lien upon such lands from and after the date of the entry and to be collected as other taxes and returned to the Village according to law. NORTHWOOD PLANNING COMMISSION PUBLIC MEETING
The Northwood Planning Commission will hold a regular meeting on Monday, June 11, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Northwood Municipal Building. NORTHWOOD BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS PUBLIC MEETING
The Northwood Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a regular meeting on Tuesday, June 12, 2018.  All Board of Zoning Appeals meetings are open to the public and are held on the second Tuesday of each month unless it is necessary to reschedule.   The following appeals cases will be reviewed:

Case No. 0652:  The Salvation Army, 4405 Woodville Rd., Northwood, Ohio is requesting a variance of 15’ to allow a shed to be placed in the front yard (2’ off the side of the primary structure) instead of 15’ from the rear of the principal building. PUBLIC NOTICE
The City of Northwood will be holding a Public Hearings in the Council Chambers of the Northwood Municipal Building, 6000 Wales Road, Northwood, Ohio 43619 for zoning changes on June 28, 2018 at 6:55 p.m.

Planning Commission made the recommendation to Council on 5-14-18 to approve zoning changes on parcel M50-300000002000 (1930 E. Broadway, Northwood, Ohio) from M-2 (Heavy Industrial) to R-OA-1 (Older Area Residential).

 

Noxious Weed Policy
The Benton Township Trustees remind all residents of the Noxious Weed Policy, established in July 2006, a fee of $250.00 per hour for man, tractors/mowers and fuel will be charged if the Board deems necessary to mow noxious weeds on private property after notice is given to the landowner.

The time billed will include travel time to and from the site. The repair cost of any breakage of equipment due to poles, posts and/or holes will be added to the hourly mowing bill.

The Village of Woodville Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a PUBLIC HEARING on Monday, June 21, 2018 at 7:00pm in Council Chambers at the Village Municipal Building, 530 Lime Street, Woodville, Ohio 43469.
