At the Division II district track meet, Oak Harbor girls placed second, scoring 88 ½ points to finish behind Galion (102) and the boys finished third, scoring 79 to place behind Perkins (108) and Shelby (101½).

Anyone who might be interested on becoming a licensed OHSAA football official can sign up to take the OHSAA football officiating class that will be held in room 186 at Clay High School.

In the Division III district track meet at Perkins High School in Sandusky, Woodmore girls placed fourth with 57 points, Northwood was 11th with 29 points and Gibsonburg was 12th with 23 points. In the boys meet, Woodmore was fourth (57), Gibsonburg seventh (42½) and Northwood eighth (42).

Once again, the two one-stoplight towns with similar street layouts and populations met in the regional tournament, and this year it was Van Wert County’s Convoy Crestview (22-4) winning over Gibsonburg (20-8).

Woodmore sophomore Ava Beam woke up still fighting a cold last Saturday morning prior to the Northern Buckeye Conference meet at Eastwood.
A few sniffles, however, couldn’t stop her from winning three individual events and anchoring the Wildcats’ 4x800 relay to a first place finish.

Waite wrestling will host its second annual golf fundraiser on June 8 at South Toledo Golf Club with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Cost is $75 per golfer or $350 per team. Includes catered meal, hot dog and lunch turnaround, drinks and prizes.
