The Sandusky County Fair welcomed more than 52,840 visitors in 2023, and organizers are hoping for even more at this year's fair, set for Aug. 19-25 at the county fairgrounds, 901 Rawson Ave., Fremont. Daily gate admission is $11.

The American Theatre Guild, with Nickelodeon, GEA Live and Senbla, will present “Avatar: The Last Airbender In Concert” Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 7:30 p.m. on the Stranahan Theater stage. Tickets are available for purchase at StranahanTheater.com.

It was perfect.
A perfect place on a glorious June evening. Appetizers and drinks of choice were offered on the shaded deck – perfectly cool and comfortable with a pleasant breeze ruffling the colorful flowerboxes that surrounded it.

Our area has many extraordinary features – the lake, fishing, birding, natural areas. We’re loaded.
But we do seem to be a tad short on scenic overlooks. They’re hard to come by in our flatlands.
