Soy board member to speak
Ohio Soybean Council (OSC) board member John Motter will speak on the $5 billion Ohio soybean industry at the monthly Northwest Ohio Ag-Business Breakfast Forum, Thursday, Aug. 21 from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Agricultural Incubator Foundation, Middleton Pike (SR 582) in Bowling Green.

The program will begin at 8:30 a.m. with informal networking hosted by the Center for Innovative Food Technology (CIFT).

Motter is an ex-officio member of the OSC board. He also serves as lead of the United Soybean Board’s Customer Focus Action Team, which deals with the relationship and needs of farmers, processors and buyers in the United States and overseas. Before participating in this position, he served on their board of directors for five years.

Top ODA official to speak at breakfast forum
Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) director David T. Daniels will speak on the current and future issues surrounding the state of agriculture in Ohio at the Northwest Ohio Ag-Business Breakfast Forum, Thursday, July 17 from 8-9:30 a.m. at the Agricultural Incubator Foundation, 13737 Middleton Pike (SR 582), Bowling Green.


Fishing trip for women
The Ottawa Soil and Water Conservation District, in cooperation with Tibbels Marina, is offering a special opportunity for women to take a chartered fishing trip out of Lakeside Marblehead Wednesday, July 16 from 5-9 p.m.

Fishing poles and bait will be provided, along with a boxed dinner. A fishing license will be required for the trip and is available for purchase at the marina, or at many other locations in the county. A one-day fishing license is $11. A resident fishing license is $19. The cost is $10 for those 66 and older.

The cost to attend the fishing trip is $35. To reserve a spot, call 419-898-1595.
