Outlook good for fishing in Lake Erie, state says
Lake Erie anglers should experience quality fishing during 2009, according to biologists with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife.
“Over the years, Lake Erie has consistently provided some of the best fishing in the country,” said Roger Knight, Lake Erie fisheries program manager at ODNR,” We expect 2009 to be no different.”
A request for a new special use permit for a proposed convenience store at Seaman Street and Van Buren Avenue in East Toledo has run into some opposition by neighbors who fear it will become a hangout for rowdy youths.
Adjacent to, and immediately west of the proposed store, is Ravine Park Village, a public housing project.
Oregon City Council last week approved additional engineering services by Poggemeyer Design Group, Inc., for the Pearson Park bike connector.
On June 11, 2001, a $56,701 contract was awarded to Poggemeyer to provide professional engineering services for “Various Bikeway Projects,” including the Stadium Road Bikeway, phase I, the Municipal Complex Connector, phase I, and the Pearson Park connector.

A sanitary sewer rehabilitation project in Oregon is expected to occur in several phases, according to Oregon Public Service Director Paul Roman.
The Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC) provided a $200,000 loan with no interest to the city for phase I of the sewer rehabilitation project. The target area is the Wheeling trunk sewer service area.
