The Village of Oak Harbor is looking for a new administrator.

Members of village council accepted the resignation of administrator Robert Pauley in the final moments of Tuesday’s council meeting.

Pauley sat silently at his desk adjacent to council as Mayor Bill Eberle read the resignation letter submitted to him a week ago. No one on council seemed surprised.

Oregon is considering purchasing a waterline easement from Aldi on Navarre Avenue so that a fire hydrant can be installed on adjacent property owned by Rudy’s Hot Dog.

The city has been talking with the owner of Rudy’s to build a restaurant on the property, though it is just in the talking stage, according to Administrator Mike Beazley.

Mercy pulls permit for $8.6 million, 90-bed addition

Given the recent cutbacks and employee buy-outs from Northwest Ohio’s two major healthcare institutions, our region is getting an unexpected dose of good news from Mercy St. Charles. Danis, a nationally-known healthcare construction company, has pulled a building permit for an $8.6 million expansion of the hospital, according to Jim Gilmore, commissioner of the City of Oregon’s Building and Zoning Inspection Department.

Matthew Tylicki has led quite a life since he graduated from Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School. In fact, Tylicki did more things in a 20 year span than most people get to do in a lifetime.

The 1986 graduate has been all over the world, spending time in the Mediterranean, Latin America, Europe, Asia and various places in the United States; even living on the island of Sicily for two years. And though he currently does advanced work for Lockheed Martin– one of the leading companies in the technology world – many people gravitate toward the fact he has worked for the White House Military Office, supporting the Office of the President of the United States for multiple years.

Oregon Council recently approved the appointment of Melissa M. Purpura to be the city’s new prosecutor and law director.

Purpura, of Perrysburg Township, was one of four finalists interviewed by Mayor Mike Seferian, City Administrator Mike Beazley, and councilmen Jerry Peach, Jim Seaman and Council President Dennis Walendzak.
