Oregon Councilman James Seaman, who is running for Lucas County Recorder, is proposing that the Recorder’s and Auditor’s offices share services as a “one stop shop.”

The shared services arrangement, he said, would help ease the burden of taxpayers.

Tuesday night, Jerusalem Boy Scout Pack 217 opened a time capsule that had been planted at Wynn Elementary School in 1985.

The capsule was almost lost permanently. After Wynn closed last year, the capsule was found and the principal telephoned den leader Darla Bohland, who began her own search.

Cody Van Hersett was having the season of his young life, surprising even some of his Clay hockey teammates.

“He was on a tear,” said Eagles senior center A.J. Burns, who played on the same line with Cody along with senior teammate Logan Myers. “He was giving me a run for my money. He was the spark of the team.”

Twp. association to fight tax exemption bill

The Ohio Township Association is alerting its membership to a bill the association fears could become a drain on township property tax revenues.

In an article that appeared in the Jan. 2 edition of The Press Newspapers, an outpatient specialty clinic and medical procedure center that will be built on Coy and Dustin roads was erroneously called an emergency medical center. The Press regrets the error.
